Xenobionta chapter 4
The Inceptors

In a near galaxy to ours, four unique planets orbited were home for a sentient civilization, so alien to us it defied uderstanding.. Not a single one of them was like the others, each one with a different morphology shaped by their only and all-powerful technology: bioengineering. They had a complete, instinctive understanting of living beings biology to the mollecular level, and their experiments were powered by a bizarre source.
The core of all their four planets had a certain cristaline configuration that made them emit pulses which allowed the physics defying conversion of energy into matter. Some low intensity, long wave length pulses happened once in an eon, making it easier for life to originate in the far places they reached.
The most frequent emissions were exploited by the Inceptors to fuel their biological creations, but for that they had to build extensive industrial facilities on the planets' surface. As it involved clearing the rich, flourishing ecosystems, which symbiotically kept the energy cores running, they were doomed to get depleted., to the point three of the planets were almost fully  exhausted.
One of the two main factions of the Inceptors , the Seeders, defended the respect for the planet cores (their researches had proven their structure made them self-aware, sentient beings in the same way our neurons house our consciousness) and the living beings associated with them. They had managed to keep the biggest of the planets, Mahtel'ha, as a sacred, unaltered sanctuary.
By simplifying their lifestyle, they should be able to reduce energetical needs enough to leave large surfaces to re-populate and re-awaken the cores.
The other faction, the Leechers, had different plans. They created a biological system  which would allow them to reach far places of the Universe in order to conquer them and take their energy sources. But only the full harvesting of the intact Mahtel'ha core would allow it to work for long periods, as it has to hibernate in the absence of it's "food".
Having more political and economic power, the Leechers proposed a deal. Both sides would develop a synthetic virus, the Xenobionta, and leave it reach the stars in order to gather an army of infected users. If the  Leechers won, they would strip Mahtel'ha of every living being and bring their Xenobionta soldiers across the galaxies in their abominable trans-gallactic transport. If the Seeders won, the Xenobionta would become Mahtel'ha's guardians, and it would remain forever untouched.
The Seeders were losing the war, but they got a little victory. Their Xenobionta version reached the Earth, which they considered a treasure of new biodiversity. When the Leechers knew it, they sent their own strain to sabotage their success. As it created more unstable, violent Xenobionta users, they expected those to cull the opponents numbers and then take over the most powerful ones.
......................................................................................................................
When the otherworldly flash faded, everyone saw an unspeakable creature floating amongst them. After pulsating with an evil aura, most of the Xenobionta rebels began attacking the others with berserking rage.
Wise Wind, Guerrero Emplumado and the rest of the accomplished users tried to subdue and keep at bay the attackers the best they could, but many untrained Lonely Walkers died in a moment, ending themselves badly injured.
The Leecher gathered the murderous crowd and spoke to them. It was him who killed Master Shaper, hoping the most violent individuals would make an uprisal claiming for power. Now that most of them had served him well, they could follow him back home, to see the stars, fight until they got sated, and earn glory.
An iridescent tendril came from the rift above them, and the new army followed his alien leader, entering on it through weirldy angled openings.
Just as Iron Jaw dissapeared, Wise Wind was able to look into his eyes. It was as if he heard: "That's not what I wanted. Don't hate me".
.......................................................................................................................
He woke up, most definitely after fainting from the innumerable wounds. The visions he had just recieved were as clear as the words of a close friend. It was the voice of the Spirits, calling him from a distant star. The ones who created Wise Wind and the rest had already surrendered and left their children to their fate, but the Spirits needed their help or they would be destroyed, meaning an inmense blow for life all over the Universe.
So he asked for every brave enough Xenobionta to join him in a journey, one which would put their lifes on the line. He didn't even know where did they have to go, or how , but they would find the way.
They answered the call, with fear and doubts on their eyes, but the unbreakeable will of their master was like a torch in the dark. They would become strong, they would travel beyond their dreams, and they would win.

Following from chapter 3, we know about the masterminds behind the Xenobionta virus, their motivations and how their schemings will change the life of a handful of no longer run-of-the-mill human beings.
That's a major step on the development of the Xenobionta concept, and I needed to get it out of my head. I hope you can make some sense out of it.
After designing and showing you the four main characters (appearing in chapters 3 and 4), I will submit some of the rookies that joined the team. Feel free to design your own, I think it's a perfect moment on the plot to do it.

Nice!

I like the plot, but again, it does seem a little TOO skeletal. I know I suffered from this problem until the wonderful ~samoholic helped me.

One question: why are there no females? I think there should be a decent balance in a cast of characters. River Cats, by its nature and its development, wound up 70-30 in favor of females, but I've always wanted to add males to the story to balance it out. Xenobionta has the reverse problem, and it's much more severe.
